St Johns Concours d'Elegance 2013

Now in its third year, the Concours at St Johns is proving to be a worthy successor to the famed Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance that was held for a couple of decades on the grounds of Meadow Brook Hall at Oakland University.

The move to the St Johns facility has been well executed with little problems in either of the first or second years and now, in its third, the only real potential enemy was the weather and even it only made a half hearted effort to hurt the show day. Although there were a few very brief sprinkles, by and large, the weather cooperated and the show went off without a hitch.

"The Concours went as smooth as any we have ever had." says Executive Director Jim McCarter, "I think we have worked out all the new systems here at St Johns. We have it down to a science. We can get 274 cars on the field lickity split. 45 tents. 100 awards. The focus is now not on the new venue or the move, but on the cars and the culture--as it should be. I think we will be at St Johns for a long, long time."
