June 2022: Volume 13 No 1

The annual RetroMobile show in Paris France, one that I have been pleased to participate in as a member of the European based ArtistAuto group, was again initially scheduled for early February (yes I booked my flights and hotel). The show was canceled because of the return of a COVID variant and was rescheduled for March, and yes... I re-booked my flights and hotel… only to have a scheduling conflict at the last moment and, again, I missed one of my favorite shows for the second year in a row. So while a few other venues did happen, it was a quiet exhibition year so far for ArtistAuto members. A few members did exhibit in March but it was not an official group event. The good news is that the RetroMobile show has been rescheduled for next February... and ever the optimist, I have already booked my flights, room and rental car!

Automobilia Monterey has been canceled for the past two years. Says organizer Tony Singer: "Automobilia Monterey has been rescheduled and will return August 15-17, 2022". Another of my favorites, the Cobble Beach Concours held near Owen Sound Canada, has been schedule for mid-September after a two year hiatus. The Automotive Fine Arts Society has no scheduled shows for the immediate future.

We are pleased to present profiles of three (actually four) talented artists: I have known my fellow AFAS members Bruce Wheeler and Ken Eberts for over 30 years having exhibited together at the annual AFAS show at the Pebble Beach Concours for all those years. Bruce Wheeler works exist in a multitude of media and are difficult to categorize and may be best described... though over simplified... as "sculpture".  »Bruce Wheeler    Ken Eberts is the well known president of the AFAS group and expresses his fondness and interest in cars wonderfully captured in his painted works.  »Ken Eberts    Car-toons by Booth is the New York State based husband and wife team of Craig and Pam Booth They present their somewhat unconventional work in clay.    »By Booth
